Robin Williams’ family is headed to court to battle it out over the late comedians estate.
According to Williams’ trust, he left his memorabilia, awards and other personal items, including his jewelry collection to his three kids. However, this wife is taking the kids to court, claiming the items from the California home she shared with Williams should be exempt from the items he said his kids should have.
Williams’ kids, Zachary, Zelda and Cody, reportedly took items from the home without the permission of Williams wife of three years, Susan Williams. In court papers, attorneys for the children stated that they are upset Susan is not following their father’s wishes, and that she is adding “insult to a terrible injury.”
While it is yet to be seen how long this court battle will last, Robin Williams’ family is not the first to be torn apart following the death of a celebrity.
Following the deaths of Michael Jackson, Aaron Spelling and Casey Kasem, family feuds erupted revolving around the wealth of the celebrity. Even the families of peacemakers Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr., are fighting over their estates.
